What if the challenges ChatGPT and other AI poses for conventional methods of student assessment is just the catalyst we need to finally do away with conventional grading altogether and implement more authentic and humane ways to document learning? #ChatGPT #highered #ungrading

Researching liminality in cardiac arrest care, I came across Aimee Nezavdal's 2017 Masters thesis. It is excellent, an absolute joy to read, especially as a critical care nurse. If anyone knows her, please thank her for me! dr.library.brocku.ca/bitstream/hand…

I've long argued that grades-and-tests predict nothing but future grades-and-tests (bit.ly/3LNNXkq). Almost a decade ago, Google figured out that the GPAs & test scores of job applicants were “worthless” for deciding whom to hire: goo.gl/HcPbV

@LorenzoMadrazo Thanks @LorenzoMadrazo! The Coalition of Cdn Undergrad Health Programs is aiming to continue our work in this area (and others)…maybe we should start our own Twitter account too! @KurzEbba @sarahwellsDal

Very important work by @drsritz et al highlighting the hidden curriculum of MD admission requirements on aspiring applicants, namely the values of perfectionism and aversion to failure that they encourage — values that are the opposite of what we should aspire to in medicine 1/3

At long last, and against all odds, it’s finally time for @MacBHSc’s Health Sci Musical! <<frantically memorizes lines for my cameo>>

@AdamMGrant Unbelievable that you would use the word “segregation” in this context. You are not being restricted in any way, people are simply telling you they’re *not interested* in what you have to say about this. Takes a lot of unexamined privilege to believe that’s oppression.
English

Restricting people from discussing significant events is a form of segregation.
Denying entire groups the right to speak on social issues creates a culture of silence rather than voice.
Disagree with what I say, not whether I have the right to say it.

@Tuhina_Neogi @LorenaBraid @rheum_cat My thoughts exactly @Tuhina_Neogi Looks to me like it should be a slam dunk…here’s my grant with that exact sentence…there it is in the review article. Boom.
English

@LorenaBraid @rheum_cat Report it to the journal. I’ve done this previously, screenshots of my work and highlighting the plagiarized text. And you can provide “proof” of the grant submission date/review from grant-related correspondence. Scientific misconduct should not be given a free pass.

@MsMacrophage @McMasterU @inhaled_cov_vax Indeed, I am! If I can’t be in the trial, then I’m hoping to get Pfizer for my booster so I can collect the set. 😂 🦠 🧬 🧬
English

@drsritz @McMasterU @inhaled_cov_vax Ah, that’s a shame but be comforted in knowing that AZ followed by mRNA seems to be A really great combo for protecting against breakthrough infections. You won the lottery there.
English

Had two doses of an mRNA vaccine? Want to be in a trial for a new inhaled COVID vaccine? Email vaccine@mcmasteru365.onmicrosoft.com to learn about eligibility!
