"Friends" star Lisa Kudrow played a washed-up sitcom actress, Valerie Cherish, in the 2005 HBO comedy "The Comeback." The show was cancelled, but it earned a cult following, and then returned in 2014. Now, "The Comeback" is itself making a comeback for a third season. Kudrow talks with @thattracysmith about her love for playing Phoebe Buffay; her aptitude for "cringe comedy"; and how she found solace following the death of "Friends" castmate Matthew Perry. cbsn.ws/4c3Qwht

It's time we advocate for Angelenos after dark. As mayor, I'll create LA's first Office of Nightlife. We'll run buses until after last call. We'll mediate disputes between residents and venues so the cops stay out of it. We'll put naloxone in the hands of venue staff and protect people who call for help. Cities that treat nightlife as infrastructure see the returns: more jobs, safer streets, better quality of life for everyone 🌞 Join us at raeforla.com.

Chuck Norris, the martial arts champion who became an iconic action star and led the hit series “Walker, Texas Ranger,” has died. He was 86. Norris was hospitalized in Hawaii on Thursday, and his family posted a statement saying he had died Friday morning: It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace. To the world, he was a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength. To us, he was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather, an incredible brother, and the heart of our family. He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives. While our hearts are broken, we are deeply grateful for the life he lived and for the unforgettable moments we were blessed to share with him. The love and support he received from fans around the world meant so much to him, and our family is truly thankful for it. To him, you were not just fans, you were his friends. We know many of you had heard about his recent hospitalization, and we are truly grateful for the prayers and support you sent his way. As we grieve this loss, we kindly ask for privacy for our family during this time. Thank you for loving him with us. variety.com/2026/film/news…

Director Christian Petzold weighs in on the Berlin Film Festival controversy over its handling of the Gaza conflict: "We had many, many people onstage in the time when I was on the jury. We have people in from Gaza, and they were onstage and said they wanted to have a ceasefire. And the Germans had a big problem. [The Germans] are the killers; they made the Holocaust. And now they want to be the good guys. So, therefore, they say that antisemitism is the worst thing in the world. And it is. It’s the worst thing. Terrible. But there is a quotation by [philosopher Theodor] Adorno — he says that a philosemite is an antisemite who’s loving Jews. Now they want to be philosemites." variety.com/2026/film/feat…

@drwill20 @signor_martini Lol I replied to the tweet you put right above this one You said: "...the book is built around this character's innocence and her losing it slowly. So yeah an unknown/teenager would work better" I disagree and stated why. If anyone is conflating things here, it's you 🙃

People don’t really know the work it takes to cast a teenager to play the role of a teenager. You think film industries all over the world don’t know what they’re doing when they cast older people for younger roles? You think it’s every “teenage role” you can get an actual “teenager” to play?

If "Purple Hibiscus" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie ever gets adapted to a movie, this would be the perfect cast. Would you change anyone?
