The Bucks, incidentally, are VERY much aware of how much Giannis wants to play in Miami. They seem determined to leave the Heat in a compromised roster position so that the Heat also has a hard time doing what the Bucks couldn't do the past 5 years (build a championship team around him). That's the reason I've been saying that it serves Giannis' interest to make clear to the world that he will sign an extension only with Miami, thus dissuading other potential bidders. That could allow Heat to keep another asset (Kas? Pelle?) It helps both Giannis and Heat, but Giannis camp has not yet been inclined to go that far yet.... Meanwhile, ProBasketballTalk reporting today that Orlando isn't involved with Giannis and plans to 'run it back.'

If Milwaukee doesn’t have a truly better offer available & Giannis has told teams he will extend in Miami & very few other places…..The Heat are likely telling the Bucks “take our offer or watch Giannis walk into our space for no assets in 2027, suit yourself” I will admit, I am not that shrewd of a negotiator. I know I tend to lean towards the dramatic… but for me, this acquisition feels like an existential moment for the front office and organization. Just Get it done.

The Miami Heat and Milwaukee Bucks are having a “who blinks first” situation for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Miami feels like their current offer is good especially when they feel like they could sign Giannis for free in 2027. Bucks aren’t satisfied with the Heat’s offer but it could also be their best option on the table. It’s either Miami gives up another asset or Bucks give in and accept.
