somebody was FRESH on our ride today, 19 and certainly feeling himself. He never made me feel unsafe but we sure ran like the wind

And like I’ve been in horses for 22 years but it hits different when you own one I was so right to angst for this for decades

I’ve owned my mare 2 years now and it still feels so brand new like everyone has a just going about their business at the barn and then I’m like wow!!😀 I love horses so much!!😀

let it be known that ms. treat trained: stands at the mounting block, goes for a 20 minute ~relaxed~ walk in the arena, and walks back to her stall in just a halter :)

@beezersandottbs The tricks was the most mentally stimulating for her though especially if I did multiple sessions in a day but I own a horse version of a frickin border collie or some other high-energy crackhead breed

@beezersandottbs lol I started clicker training (shaping) Maddie to do tricks (she can shake hooves, say “no,” touch both sides of her stomach, “spin” in a circle….lol) that didn’t involve a whole lot of movement, and let her play bobbing for apple slices / all the classic OG games

Alright kids what’s our favorite stall rest enrichment because god forbid you keep Sahara inside a minute longer than her normal schedule but she doesn’t get an option right now because she cannot walk.

I’m so proud he stood (almost chest deep) in the river even though ~he hates it~
