Looking for a video editor
Budget: US$1,500/month
Style: SaaS launch videos
That's it
A post like this and its notifications won't stop.
Because editors these days don't care what they're editing or who they're editing for. I just want to spam DMs and pray someone replies.
This type of editor is ruining the profession. They want to be valued but they don't value themselves.

@Charlottedraw Exactly. They don't even know the country of the person looking for a professional. I'm a video editor, and every client I've gotten has been through a good conversation to understand how I can help them. Because in the end, editing videos is about solving problems.

@edditinggoes Professional editors focus on quality, creativity, and the right projects, not spamming random DMs for every job post. If you want clients to respect your work and pay your value, you must first respect your own craft and present yourself professionally

@reizenfx It's sad to see editors posting fake job openings just to gain more followers. It ruins their image. If you need an editor and they act like this, it says a lot about them. They're capable of deceiving professionals in the same niche just to gain a measly number of followers.

1/YouTube's own data shows the biggest retention drop happens between 30–50% of any video. That's where viewers silently decide: "is this worth finishing?" Most editors never touch this. Most creators never notice.
2/The fix is called a Pattern Interrupt. Your brain ignores anything predictable. A sudden change — visually or sonically — snaps attention back. It doesn't need to be dramatic. It just needs to be different.
3/What actually works: — Cut to b-roll or a different angle — Flash a bold text card on screen — Drop the music completely for 2 seconds — Slight zoom in on the speaker's face — One unexpected sound effect.
4/Here's how to find the problem in your own videos: Open YouTube Studio → go to any video → click "retention graph" Find the steepest drop between 30–50%. Go to that exact timestamp in your edit. Something boring is happening there. Fix it.
5/This one change consistently lifts average view duration by 15–30%. Not a new thumbnail. Not a better hook. Just paying attention to the part everyone ignores. If your editor isn't doing this — they should be. If you need one that does, DMs are open.
