#ClinicalPearl Pt with a sore throat then abdominal pain, microscopic hematuria and this finding. What is it and why? no hints as this is classic.

@ejlloyd91 Find leadership opportunities that don’t cost, find a small thing you can do in the felt to make things better for staff. That’s real leadership.

🆘 HELP WANTED 🆘 I’ve been qualified a little over 2.5yrs as an RN & keen to progress. I interviewed for a B6 post and was given feedback to “seek out leadership qualifications” I always thought the NHS Leadership Academy was free, not the average price of £1000+! Any advice?

Just putting this out there! Are there folks out there who need a project? As you will have noticed we haven’t exactly been delivering on the content side .. we just don’t have the capacity. Does anyone fancy taking this on.. pushing us into background and owning it for a bit!

@MartinBromiley Horrible case but an X-ray is not the definitive test. The sad reason he died is that AD was not thought to be the case, if it was bloods and CTa are the correct tests. He is young and sadly I think a lot of times this might be missed?

Self-extrication should be considered as the primary route of egress for trapped patients of all ages.... next up: our Delphi work which defines those that can be helped by self-extrication, with: @NFCC_FireChiefs @ParamedicsUK @_ukro @FPHCEd @ResearchPHOTON &NHRAF
Rob Fenwick@robfenwick

Another piece of the “extrication puzzle” Published yesterday in @SJTREM (so it’s free to download + digest) In summary: - older patients don’t do well - get them out promptly - ideally use self extrication Thanks again @RoadSafetyTruUK for the support sjtrem.biomedcentral.com/track/pdf/10.1…

@ededucate Great podcast guys! It did remind me however, I’m curious what devices people are using for their smaller transfusions, we use the Bair Hugger Ranger, but has a lot of dead space & takes time to set up… any good alternatives out there?

@Ton1A86 Totally agree mate I like the ranger for warmed blood that we don’t need to give fast.

@ededucate We also use the ranger but don’t find it too long to set up. The waste from dead space Yes.

@NurseAliO @ashleighlowther Absolutely mate, all of our stuff is linked to a set competency so if staff can show evidence of having read blog/listened etc then it can be attached to that section and signed off.
