Tried out the new Adobe Podcast thing. Original audio recording w/ nothing added to it except +3 dB on Levels on A1. Adobe Podcast on A2. Only significant difference I can tell is Adobe Podcast just made it tons louder. Had to drop it -9 to balance it with the original. Thoughts?

@JoshuaLelon Over the past year I’ve learned a stupid amount about cars, engines, racing, and off-roading just because my 3yo’s curiosity.

I wonder how much of the value of having kids is having someone around that’s just incredibly curious about everything to rekindle your own curiosity about the world

@JasonMB Same here. I'm on an 1100+ day streak that I just can't work up the nerve to break. Also there isn't another great alternative I've found for my target language so I'm stuck with the green owl app for now.

I keep DOING duoling out of habit but they've changed it so much in the past year I no longer feel like im "learning" im taking educated guesses because the program isn't "teaching" anymore its telling.

@editvideofaster you should be able to record your camera with quicktime at the same time as recording your screen w/ OBS.

Tested out OBS as it was overwhelmingly recommended. Very good quality. I have a couple issues to work out still like figuring out if I can record my camera separately so it's not flattened into the final recorded file. But based on this first recording, I think this'll work. TY!

@BlueCrayon77 @dickij10 Only ever used PS’s version and get decent results. Like Dave said, I’d guess it’s similar in AE. I’ve been having to mask out/replace the little gray Zoom name boxes in interviews recently. Going to try it out on the next one of these I have.

@dickij10 @editvideofaster Results may vary… but always worth trying as a first attempt. I only use it in Photoshop, but I’m guessing it’s the same in After Effects

In need of opinions on screen capturing software. Been happily using Camtasia for years but need to upgrade my license for my new computer. ScreenFlow is much cheaper ($169 vs. $299). Worth making the switch? Using a MacBook Pro for what it’s worth.

@editvideofaster i just use Quicktime. Screen recording is built in. None of the fancy bits, but definitely fits the budget

@thateditorbloke The biggest screen in my area was only doing 3D so that decision was made for me. Honestly can’t remember how I watched the first.
