@IanDarke Guy on talk sport summed it up perfectly an obvious orange card, some will say yellow , some red. A very poor tackle but in mitigation appeared to half slip.

Referees advised not to make shock decisions. Josh Smith might have been the only observer who thought Ogilvie’s tackle against Oxford was a red card. Huge call in such a key game. Big point for Pompey to get a late draw after playing 72 mins with 10 men. Both wingers good.

Difficult in the wind and swindon is a hard place to referee at the moment they are higher in the league than perhaps they should be and the crowd expect results.
His fitness showed better than most.
Decision making was good.

I can take losing and mistakes, but borderline 'tools down', i can't accept. Barnes was a total and utter disgrace, and yet receives a minimum of what Elanga gets. Equally, applauding that at the end isn't sticking behind the team, it's telling them any old shite will do #NUFC

@DaveSmith8882 @CraigForsyth_ No you missed the point, i would say no team is not bothered at all top level unless the season is done. But teams esp in england from champions league hit a wall of fatigue( mixture mental and physical) about now. Newcastle last season had a less intense workload

Last season newcastle this same week beat a cracking liverpool team who had hit that tired patch. Players are not machines, modern footi is computer based tactics , with actual humans.

@DaveSmith8882 I said the same to a few walking out after the Brentford defeat. Tino was an utter disgrace in the second 45 as was Thiaw who has made more errors than any other player this season. We’ve gone from 3/4 players away from a top CL side side to 3/4 away from a championship side.

It appears the champions league takes a proper toll on english football teams
Newcastle, chelsea , arsenal , liverpool , and spurs all under performed this weekend. Only man city played well and they were not that great today.

@GordonRef @stevel_fcsh Cannot argue to much, but 20 years ago 22 players were not trying to cheat or con whenever possible, some olayers did but most did not this is now most do some do not, and this is most adult football all levels.

Ive been involved with football for 20yrs this coming June, this season has to be the worst ive ever seen for referee performance, absolute shocking overall… they should be held to account, oh! Sorry they cannot! They are bullet proof!

@jamesaknight I think a lot caught out by how dry the summer was and any winter weather has drained so quick, i live 20 miles away and local gardeners are amazed at how dry the ground is early this year, we never had the monsoons the north and west had here.

It was fine for nearly every other horse today, including plenty trained by Willie Mullins. Every owner and trainer has the choice regarding whether they run their horse or not, but this is bollocks, frankly.
