I just typed "moments of badassery" into a notes document, and was surprised to not see a red line underneath it -- it turns out "badassery" is recognized by the Oxford dictionary. (but not the Twitter compose window...)

@TimSweeneyEpic 👑 Imperialism 1.5 Capture & control some digital space, including filing for trivial patents, then mostly sit on a throne demanding taxes. ⚠️ Governments want centralized control, and apps for everything. Many companies are simply proxies for gov't surveillance & control.

@SamHarrisOrg @Numenta Obviously, our purpose is to form, and attenuate, some energy pattern based on observations around us, in order to timely signal the machine of which we're some type of omeganeuron, thus serving the ultimate balance in the continuation machinery, mán. alpercinar.com/open-cell-id/

@bcrypt Reminds me of that coder-lawyer duo who generated, copyrighted, and released ~69 billion melodies/~1 TiB of MIDI files to the public. Copilot could also generate, copyright, and DMCA future code snippets. Imperialism = Capture & control some space. youtube.com/watch?v=sfXn_e…

@discord Please have the web client remember the "clicked state" when users click/acknowledge popups. The same six (!) popups/tips show every day when the user logs in. The "clicked state" should be saved per account. Currently it's saved per session, which incognito forgets.

@evacide An idea is spreading in Scandinavia at the political level; using an app to document sexual consent. Most Scandinavian governments have passed a seemingly redundant law to require formal consent, and call it rape otherwise. Amnesty is in favor. sputniknews.com/society/202101…

@gabsmashh At least you'll help save the environment by not having everyone download, parse, rasterize, and produce The Verified Icon from the additional ~999 bytes needed for the SVG. 🌱

@Datatilsynet @nrkno Kina sporer og belønner borgere for endringer i livsstil. Journalister: Manglende kritisk dialog i artikler = reklame. nrk.no/innlandet/appe…

@ID_AA_Carmack I remember some demos/loaders on the Amiga didn't disable graphics DMA during the decompression stage, which slowed down memory access quite a bit, since most of the stuff had to be put in chip memory, and needed to wait for access to the bus.

For people interested in the 4k (demand paged) and 2mb (locked physical) page provisioning I've been tweeting about, I have posted an example program if you'd like to play around with it: github.com/cmuratori/larg… Do let me know if you find anything interesting, bugs, etc.

@mmozeiko 4 says "QueryPerformanceCounter/Freq typically adjust for multiple processors, bugs in the BIOS or drivers may result **in these routines** returning different values **as the thread moves from one processor to another. So, it's best to keep the thread on a single processor.**"
