That’s because Columbus’s size is due solely to the aggressive annexation policies of Columbus mayors from the 40s to the 70s. As unincorporated suburbs sprung up outside city limits, they required water access, and Columbus said if you want city water, you have to join the city.
Thanks to this, Columbus gets to have bragging rights about being the “largest city in Ohio,” but at the cost of having terrible city borders, and, as the attached Reddit comment will attest, having large parts of the city that aren’t truly integrated into it — lacking sidewalks, streetlights, etc. because the city decided it was too much effort to install those things after annexing so much land.

A 63 year old disabled man I help at my job as a social worker, called me throughout March freaked out from phone calls telling him his SNAP benefits were rescinded. I figured out & helped him realize these were scam calls. Such an ugly scam to mass-deploy right now.

My grandpa is 92, likely in last years but highly lucid. Recently lost $500 to a phone scam. He told my mom & me “I knew dementia was starting” but we both said “you don’t know how to go online because you were 63 in 1995, of course you’d get phone scammed now. Not your fault”

I dated someone who would get upset at the fact that “my friends probably hate them” or “think they’re awful” because of the things they were doing to me. They were never apologetic for hurting me just upset that other people knew they were hurting me. My friends saved me.

As far as I’m concerned, your friends shouldn’t be in the know about everything that goes on in your serious relationship, except in situations where you genuinely need help or advice, like an abusive one. You owe your partner that respect and boundary, and yourself too. Your relationship shouldn’t be an open book to your friends, unless it’s not that serious and just a fling

Rich people already have an equivalent of a universal basic income. They don’t work for their money. They can sit around and collect on their passive investments. Any work they do is optional and for personal enjoyment.
They seem to do okay.
