THE HOLY SPIRIT IS NOT A PERFORMANCE. Not just shouting. Not just jumping. Not just speaking in tongues. And we need to say this boldly: You can have church theatrics… and still not have the fruit of the Spirit. Because the evidence of the Holy Spirit is not just what happens in a moment… It’s what shows up in your life. Galatians 5:22–23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control…” Notice something: It doesn’t say “fruits.” It says “fruit.” The Greek word is καρπός (karpos) — meaning evidence, produce, the visible result of an inward life. In other words: If the Holy Spirit is truly working in you… There will be visible evidence. Let’s break this down. Love (ἀγάπη – agapē) Not emotional. Not selective. A sacrificial, God-centered love. Self-control (ἐγκράτεια – enkrateia) The ability to govern your desires. Meaning you don’t just do what you feel. Kindness (χρηστότης – chrēstotēs) A genuine goodness toward others… not just when it’s convenient. Now let’s be honest. We have people shouting on Sunday… But have no self-control Monday through Saturday. Speaking in tongues… But can’t control their mouth when they’re angry. Lifting hands in worship… But walking in pride, bitterness, and division. That’s not the Spirit. That’s performance. Jesus said in Matthew 7:16: “You will know them by their fruit.” Not by how loud they are. Not by how deep they sound. Not by how spiritual they appear. By their fruit. The Holy Spirit was never given to make you look powerful in public. He was given to make you transformed in private. Romans 8:13 says: “By the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body.” Meaning the Spirit helps you: • Kill sin • Resist temptation • Walk in obedience • Love people you don’t feel like loving • Stay disciplined when no one is watching That’s real power. And here’s the conviction: Some people want the gifts of the Spirit… But reject the discipline of the Spirit. They want to operate… But don’t want to be refined. But the truth is: A life without fruit exposes a life not led by the Spirit. So no… The Holy Spirit is not just a moment. He’s not just a feeling. He’s not just an experience. He is a Person who transforms you from the inside out. And if He’s truly leading your life… It won’t just show up in church. It will show up in your character.

This snake came into our room at 3:45 AM Saturday and there was no light, I and my husband was lying on the floor due to the heat, the snake touched my hand and I felt something cold immediately I woke up with a loud scream, reached out to my phone,put on the phone light, brethren behold a big black snake, the snake thought the wrapper that I spread on the floor was my body it held the wrapper so tight with it's teeth, but God who will always remain God came through for us. I almost ran out nake from our room Thank God my husband was around because he was planning of traveling. Most of the bishops have now returned to Nigeria following the successful completion of their Ad Limina Apostolorum Visit, a sacred pilgrimage through which they renewed their communion with the Apostles and the Successor of Peter, and deepened their commitment to their pastoral mission. In this spirit, they prayed at the tombs of Saints Peter and Paul, visited the tombs of Popes Francis, Benedict XV, and John Paul II, and were received in audience by the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. The visit was further enriched by highly fruitful engagements with the dicasteries of the Holy See, yielding valuable insights and concrete direction for pastoral growth, while strengthening the Church’s contribution to peace, justice, and the common good in Nigeria. Above all, it was a time of profound prayer for the Church and the nation, entrusting Nigeria to God’s grace for healing, unity, and hope. With hearts full of gratitude, we give thanks to Almighty God for this grace-filled pilgrimage. We are deeply appreciative of the Dicastery for Evangelisation for its coordination and guidance; the Opera della Chiesa Congregation for its generous logistical support and the organisation of the spiritual recollection; the Nigerian Embassy to the Holy See for transport assistance, warm reception, and hospitality; and the Nigerian Chaplaincy in Rome, in collaboration with Nigerian priests, consecrated persons, and seminarians, for their fraternal hospitality.
