The universe is a time machine and the math on the distance ladder will break your brain. 2,000 light-years gets you Rome. Go to 500 light-years and you're watching the Black Plague consume Europe in real time. At 80 light-years, you catch World War II. At 4.24 light-years, the nearest star system, Alpha Centauri, the light arriving right now left Earth in 2022. Someone there is watching us argue about whether GPT-4 is sentient. Now scale that in the other direction. The Andromeda Galaxy is 2.5 million light-years away. An observer there right now sees Earth before modern humans existed. They're watching early hominids figure out stone tools. They have no idea what's coming. The closest alien civilization is statistically estimated at 33,000 light-years away. They would be watching humans invent agriculture for the first time. Writing hasn't been invented yet. Cities don't exist. From their perspective, we are a species that just figured out how to plant wheat. Here's what makes the physics cruel. To actually see a human-sized object on Earth from just 20 light-years away, you'd need a telescope array roughly 100 million kilometers across. That's more than half the diameter of Earth's orbit around the Sun. To see Rome from 2,000 light-years? The optics required would be larger than our solar system. The light is real. The photons that bounced off Roman soldiers are still traveling outward at 300,000 km/s right now, carrying that information forever. The universe has a perfect recording of every moment in Earth's history, expanding in all directions at the speed of light. The problem was never distance. The problem is that no civilization, no matter how advanced, can build a lens big enough to read it.

Did you know🚨: A civilization 2,000 light-years away looking at Earth today would see the Roman Empire.

Strawberry Haze round two is coming soon, and she's looking better than ever! In addition to smoking great, this strain absolutely dumps hash and makes amazing PiXiE STiX. This sativa leaning haze has old school strawberry haze terps, with zero jack. 🍓🍓

Here’s a rule of physics nobody tells you: if you do something fast enough, at a small enough scale, or everything balances out to 0 after, the universe lets you get away with an amazing amount of rule breaking.

🚨 Light Turned Into a “Solid”? Science Just Broke Reality as We Know It 😱 What sounds like pure science fiction just happened in real labs — and it’s real quantum physics. Scientists in Italy didn’t freeze light like ice cubes ❄️… but they did something even more mind-blowing. They made light behave like a solid. 🧊⚡ Here’s the crazy part: light itself can’t be frozen — it has no mass and can’t become solid. But researchers trapped light between tiny mirrors and forced it to interact with special materials. This created hybrid particles — part light, part matter — called polaritons. These strange particles started organizing themselves into ordered patterns, just like crystals in solid objects. 😮 So it’s not frozen light in the movie sense… it’s quantum light-matter magic — where light and matter blur into something completely new. Under extreme lab conditions, these particles form structures that look and behave like a solid, even though light alone could never do that. Why this matters? Because this discovery could reshape the future — ⚡ Ultra-fast computing 💡 Super-efficient energy systems 🧠 Quantum technologies 🚀 Next-gen photonic devices This isn’t fantasy. This is the universe showing us that light and matter are not as separate as we thought. At the quantum level, reality bends, rules blur, and the impossible becomes physics. What we’re witnessing isn’t frozen light… It’s the future of science being born. 🌌🔬

Throwback to my only 5 pound light. It was also the worst weed I ever grew. We couldn't give it away. Each pound was also the size of a pillow 😂 If you're wondering, the strain was Citrique

It's PiXiE 20th anniversary! 20 years ago, I quit my first and only job at a mortgage bank. I was young, broke, in debt, and had never grown a single thing. That's when I decided to get into more debt. I walked into the grow store and dropped 8K on a credit card to build my first room. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing. But I did know that if I put in the work, I would figure it out. And the rest is history.... 🧚‍♀️
