Coinbase has filed a motion to dismiss the SEC's case against it for violating securities laws and operating as an unregistered entity. 2. Coinbase argues that the SEC does not have statutory authority over the exchange and its position regarding its powers is "untenable as a matter of law." 3. Coinbase claims that the tokens mentioned in the SEC's complaint are not "investment contracts" and cannot be considered securities because they lack contractual undertakings and enforceable obligations to investors. 4. The exchange argues that even if the SEC has jurisdiction, it should have introduced a formal change to its interpretation of "investment contract." 5. Coinbase cites the Equitable estoppel defense doctrine, claiming that the SEC's previous actions and statements contradict its latest lawsuit against Coinbase. 6. Coinbase argues that the SEC was aware of its listing processes for tokens and raised no objections before bringing the lawsuit. 7. Coinbase contends that the SEC's "about-face" in its stance toward cryptocurrency regulation should bar it from seeking legal remedies. 8. ℹ️ Project XD-2 (Brief Update)
Since February 2023 we have been researching the #XLS38d proposal. It’s one of the reasons we run 5 #XRPL nodes in the UK. We are planning and preparing to build a #XDX Sidechain with #XRPL/#EVM compatibility.

This would mean XDX would function as transactional fuel and upgrade from a token to a main net currency.
The XRPL main chain and XDX sidechain would be independent blockchains. We would be able to utilise the smart contract hooking implementation on the XRPL and later provide opportunity for EVM smart contract functionality on the XDX Sidechain.
This is not a comparison to compete with one chain to be better than another but assist, expand and interoperate existing cryptocurrency onto a interconnecting network.
