He is just so lovely 😍🐑 7 years ago, this terrified woolly sheep was living on the run in the Australian bushland, where he had been for many years. I first met him on the day of his rescue...it was so hot, and we were all worried about him struggling in the heat with all his wool. After being rescued by Edgar’s Misson and brought the sanctuary, an incredible 21 kg of fleece was shorn off him. 🤯 During my time working at the sanctuary, we slowly became best friends. He’s the sweetest boy and has touched the hearts of everyone he’s met, both in person and virtually around the world. ❤️ I am so grateful I met him and was able to adopt him 2 years ago. Now he enjoys spending his days relaxing with Precious, eating specially made breakfasts and dinners (which he demands at 7:30am & 3:30pm every day), and stealing cucumber from Fawkes. 🐑 📹kellydinhamphoto

In 1979, John Beal had three heart attacks and was told he had 4 months to live. He decided to spend those 4 months cleaning up the creek behind his house. Hamm Creek ran through South Seattle into the Duwamish River. The water was yellow, dead fish washed up on the banks, and sections of it had been buried in concrete culverts that ran too hot for salmon to swim through. He had no environmental training, he just started picking up trash. The four months came and went, and he kept going. He spent the next 27 years pulling debris out of that creek by hand, planting native trees, fighting utilities to daylight the buried sections, and teaching volunteers to name every tree they planted. He always said a tree with a name had a better chance. Within days of one restoration, small salmonids appeared in water that hadn't held fish in 40 years. Herons, beavers, and river otters all came back. John Beal died in 2006, at 56, of a heart attack, beating his prognosis by 27 years. With a heavy heart I am sad to say our sweet Brecken has been diagnosed with leukemia. He is in the hospital and started his first chemo treatment! He is going thru what no child should have to go thru! His amazing parents are going thru so much too it breaks my heart! He is our youngest grandchild and is only two!
