Community Fridge update! The closure of the fridge is going to be extended to allow for more time to do some future planning. There will be a volunteer/community meeting on Friday, December 16th at 5:30-7:30 pm. The location will be decided shortly

If you’ve stopped by recently and were met with a locked gate or door, we apologize and cannot thank you enough for your patience and understanding. We’ll be open until Thursday this week, please feel free to take what you need and give what you can. We’ll be back soon 🤝

This project is entirely volunteer operated. The last six months our team has taken action around needs we couldn’t have anticipated. This break also allows all of us to rest and reflect on those events while getting refreshed before a season that can be difficult for many of us

Happy 1/2 Birthday to the Community Fridge Project! 🎉 Over the last 6 months we’ve learned so much about our community’s needs. To implement some of these changes and prepare for winter, we’ll be closing the community fridge for 30 days starting this Friday 10/21

There’s also been a lot of trash left around Umoja lately so next weekend we’ll be cleaning up the fridge site (date & time tbd). This project is hosted at a small local business, so it’s important we care for this space and keep it tidy. ALL helping hands are needed and welcomed

✨transparency moment✨ The fridge site hasn’t been getting unlocked/locked regularly, adding hiccups for donors and shoppers. We need more volunteers in the Mt. View area who can open and/or lock up (9am/6pmish). If this is you please email volunteer@foodforthoughtalaska.com
