Design is dead.

After 3 years Thundra is almost done! It has 2 fonts (reg/ita) each with 2 axes + 6 masters, +1.300 glyphs. The middle masters were designed for texts, while the extremes are perfect for big sizes. This font will be released along with a new foundry: Reset Type Studio next year.

Has anyone else noticed that the vertical bar symbol in the italic or oblique style of many fonts, such as Verdana, is still vertical? This is a way of identifying a faux italic; i.e. a slanted version of the regular style.

Glyptic’s alphabet...it’s kinda chaotic! It contrasts sharp triangular serifs against delicate spirals, with a host of unconventional letters: a razor-sharp R, an uncialesque U, loads of descenders, and a M / W pair with a bizarre symmetrical loop. ➰
