Ishmael Jaffree stood up to school-sponsored prayer, took his case to the Supreme Court, and won—securing a key church-state victory in Wallace v. Jaffree. After his passing, we made sure his story was told. nytimes.com/2026/04/14/us/…

Yesterday, President #Trump posted an AI-generated image depicting himself as Jesus. With religious and nonreligious Americans both rightfully outraged, our common thread is this: presidents depicting themselves as religious figures has no place in our secular democracy.

Today is Thomas Jefferson’s 283rd birthday. He originated 'separation of church & state' in his letter to the Danbury Baptists. This principle protects all faiths and none, but faces attacks from those calling it the 'separation of church and state myth.' It remains essential.

Trump's disastrous new executive order outlines his threat to seize control of federal elections before midterms. For the sake of our secular democracy, we stand firmly against this order. Read more ➡️ ffrf.us/4c9srHh

"While we’re confident in our chances of ultimately winning this case," writes FFRF Staff Attorney Sammi Lawrence, "this situation should serve as a reminder of the importance of electing school board candidates who believe in the First Amendment." ffrf.us/480nlKV

This is what happens when politics turns into a personality cult. If someone else had posted this, many conservative Christians would be calling it blasphemy. Where’s that outrage now? Christian nationalism uses faith as a prop for ego and power.

A government agency shouldn’t promote religious messages—period. When officials invoke scripture, they exclude millions who don’t share those beliefs. Government must serve everyone equally, not endorse religion. Patriotism doesn’t require piety.

What’s a real betrayal is denying people basic healthcare while pretending it’s about “taxpayer money,” which already can’t be used for abortion care under the Hyde Amendment. PP provides cancer screenings, contraception, and essential services millions rely on.
Josh Hawley@HawleyMO

This would be a massive betrayal. Under no circumstance can Planned Parenthood be allowed to get taxpayer money for their abortions and gender transition insanity. Period.

One thing I’m very passionate about is the separation of Church and State. Pete Hegseth has said our service members are fighting #Iran “in the name of Jesus Christ.” Religion is important to many Americans, but America was not founded on one religion. With this Secretary of Defense and the Department of Homeland Security posting Bible verses, the Trump administration is trying to make America look like the exclusionary extremists we claim to be against.
