Looks like “religious freedom” only applies to bakers who don’t want to make cakes for gay couples & parents who don’t want their kids to learn that LGBTQ people exist. The Supreme Court’s extreme “religious freedom” approach is designed exclusively to support the Court’s own politics. One more reason this political body needs to be expanded & subjected to term limits.

The LDS Church spent millions trying to convince everyone to stop saying “Mormon.” Now they’re arguing people see “Mormon Stories” and think it’s official LDS content? Pick a lane.
Hemant Mehta@hemantmehta

The LDS Church recently sued a prominent critic, saying people might confuse his "Mormon Stories" podcast with official LDS content. John Dehlin has now filed a formal response. He says their claims are frivolous and they just want to silence his voice. friendlyatheist.com/p/the-mormon-c…

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints says the word “Mormon” is “of Satan.” Now they’re in court against a prominent Mormon dissident saying the word is part of the church’s brand and he can’t keep using it the way he is washingtonpost.com/religion/2026/…

Christian nationalists in the Trump administration are busy putting Bible classes in schools, posting the Ten Commandments and preaching "family values." Apparently feeding hungry children is less important than imposing religion on everyone else.
Nicole Santa Cruz@nicolesantacruz

In less than a year, the number of children receiving federal food assistance, or SNAP, has plummeted by at least 776,000. An expert called it a "public health crisis" in the making: propublica.org/article/snap-b…

The pattern is always the same: make a grand claim about America's "Christian founding," cite a source few people will check, and hope nobody reads the original text. Unfortunately for them, some of us actually do.
Hemant Mehta@hemantmehta

David Barton's pseudo-historian son Tim got caught citing a fake quote. He held up a book of sermons, claimed it inspired the Declaration of Independence, and quoted words that aren't in the text. This is Christian Nationalist "history" in a nutshell. friendlyatheist.com/p/christian-na…

📘Fact or fairytale🧚‍♀️: America was founded as a Christian nation.🤔 Seems to depend on who you ask, as Christian Nationalists blame demons for trying to trick us into thinking America wasn't "dedicated to the Lord Jesus Christ." 👿 What will they think of next?

Every child deserves to be safe at school. But if the state wishes to provide security assistance, it must do so through neutral programs that treat all schools equally, not by carving out special appropriations for politically connected religious organizations.
Hemant Mehta@hemantmehta

Florida's budget includes a $15 million taxpayer-funded gift to Catholic schools for "security." The Church lobbied for it and they're hoping for more in the future. Meanwhile, public schools are still struggling. friendlyatheist.com/p/floridas-15-…
