When my parents confronted me about being depressed I explained it was because I was incredibly isolated, didn't have any friends, and didn't know how to make any (grew up in an RV, homeschooled, moving often) they got super defensive like I was blaming them and then proceeded to rant for an hour about how much they tried as parents and how ungrateful I was. Then they got surprised when I told them I was moving out of state two months later lol.
