Pages of the Glorius Qur'ān today, Monday 20/4/26, Sūrah al-Āli-ʿImrān (3): 38-52, tafakkur verse 3: 52 Theme: When the disciples of Jesus Christ reaffirmed their Islām, they laid a timeless legacy of faith, loyalty, and submission that continues to guide believers across generations {۞ فَلَمَّاۤ أَحَسَّ عِیسَىٰ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ قَالَ مَنۡ أَنصَارِیۤ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ قَالَ ٱلۡحَوَارِیُّونَ نَحۡنُ أَنصَارُ ٱللَّهِ ءَامَنَّا بِٱللَّهِ وَٱشۡهَدۡ بِأَنَّا مُسۡلِمُونَ} "But when Jesus felt [persistence in] disbelief from them, he said, Who are my supporters for [the cause of] Allāh? The disciples said, We are supporters for Allāh. We have believed in Allāh and testify that we are Muslims [submitting to Him]". LESSONS: 1. Faith Must Be Declared Clearly and Courageously: The disciples did not keep their belief hidden. When the moment of truth came, they openly declared their faith in Allāh. This teaches that īmān is not merely internal, it requires expression, especially in times of trial. Silence in the face of falsehood can weaken the truth. 2. True Followers Align Themselves With Divine Purpose: When Jesus Christ asked, “Who are my supporters for the cause of Allāh?”, the disciples immediately responded with commitment. This shows that being a true follower of any Prophet means supporting the mission of tawḥīd and righteousness, not personal or worldly agendas. 3. Identity as “Muslims” Is Rooted in Submission, Not Labels: The disciples said, “Bear witness that we are Muslims.” This affirms that Islām is not confined to the followers of Prophet Muhammad alone, but is the universal message of submission to Allāh taught by all Prophets. Their declaration reflects continuity in divine guidance across time. 4. Collective Commitment Strengthens Faith: They responded as a group, “We are supporters…”, highlighting the importance of unity in faith. A collective stand for truth builds resilience, protects the community, and ensures that the message is preserved and transmitted to future generations. 5. Legacy Is Built Through Action, Not Just Belief: Their words were not empty, they stood firm, supported their Prophet, and upheld the truth. Because of this, their example became a legacy. Every generation inherits not just their statement, but their model of conviction, sacrifice, and unwavering obedience to Allāh. The disciples of Jesus Christ remind us that true faith is tested through loyalty, clarity, and action. Their affirmation of Islām was not only a response to a question, it was a defining moment that shaped the spiritual heritage of believers until the end of time. O Allāh, Lord of all the Prophets and the One who guided the disciples of Jesus Christ, make us among Your sincere supporters. Strengthen our faith as You strengthened theirs, and grant us the courage to declare the truth without fear or hesitation. O Allāh, make our hearts firm upon submission to You, and let us live and die as true Muslims, following the path of Prophet Muhammad and all those who came before him in righteousness. Do not let our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us steadfastness in times of trial. Āmīn 🤲.
