@frobrien I would say he has issues, or wouldhave simply “returned” already. I am sure confession is in order.

Got this email today: "I am writing to seek your guidance on returning to the Catholic Church. It has been many years since I last attended Mass and decades since I have actively practiced the faith. I would be very grateful for the opportunity to meet with you to discuss the steps involved in returning and how best to move forward." Let's go!

@frobrien @Catholiterature Thanks, I will. My husband enjoys coming to Mass and has even gone alone when I'm out of town, 😍, so I have hope. In my heart, I know his 1st marriage was invalid b/c his ex-wife was unbaptized & wanted nothing to do with Christianity. Whereas we are both baptized Christians.

@vmblakeslee @Catholiterature I’m sorry to hear all of that. If you’re working with an advocate, I’d push forward and see what happens. Tribunals deal with these kinds of issues a lot. Give the process a chance.

@Catholiterature @frobrien His relatives who would be witnesses (his sisters) are Prots who are somewhat anti-Catholic, find the annulment requirements of the Church silly, and sound like they wouldn't cooperate. He's a Protestant and also doesn't want the hassle at his age.

@vmblakeslee What does that mean that it’s too complicated to pursue?

@frobrien I've recently reverted, but I am also shut out b/c my husband had a prior civil marriage, and the annulment is too complicated to pursue in his case. So, no Communion for me for who knows how long. It's sad, but I've accepted it.

They have sung morning prayer led by a pastoral year seminarian before the morning Mass.

Holy Mass this morning at the parish of my youth, Saints Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, Friends of Jesus Catholic Church in Kingwood, TX.

I'm visiting my parents this week and just listened to my mom (85 years old) talking about her mother giving her and her siblings cod liver oil everyday before they went to school. My mom is still grossed out by it.

@mattswaim First confessions don't take as long as people think they take. If there's good preparation, it's 5-8 minutes. If longer is needed, no worries but I think a lot of new folks overdramatize it.

Knights of Columbus Breakfast after the 8am and 10am Masses Young Adult Brunch in the Rectory after the 10:00am Mass

And my spiritual director is becoming a bishop... Glory to God.

People are moving to Oklahoma, as is right and just.
