@SaffronOlive Also, since they're a single print run now, it means the printers are done and already have their next sets in production. WOTC probably has most of their print volume allocated for months to come and can't just "print more" without causing other problems.

I've seen people wondering why Wizards didn't just print more of the Marvel cards. For one thing, limiting products actually creates demand, plus "we sold out Marvel in 2 seconds" sounds great to other potential Universes Beyond IP holders and investors.

its pretty awesome that i joined the queue for secret lair at 9:01am and the thing i had in my cart is already sold out after waiting in line for three hours (still 46m to go)

@MTGSecretLair I was in the queue at 9:00 AM sharp, waited 3 hours, and by the time I got in to purchase, all the bundles and most of the foil drops were gone. Oh, but I can order them from scalpers on Ebay! I'm so tired of this.

@PleasantKenobi Thanks for pointing out #1. I saw the graphic and thought "wait does that mean we're officially at 6 main sets per year?" And we'll still be getting Remastered, Horizons, and Masters sets on top of these...

Some stealth changes coming with more UB: 1) the 6 sets instead of 5 a year is being glossed over - more product deluge, some benefits, some negatives of course 2) UB comes at a licenses premium. 50% of Magic is about to be more expensive to buy. Video on this this week.
