@KelRo736 @EchoAuris People really seem to not understand we have cheaper and better options for internet than starlink. We could even use telkom to connect rural areas or some other provider. Starlink is expensive and not as fast as fibre. The speeds advertised are possible but not yet provided

@EchoAuris And how exactly do you expect "the poor" to afford Starlink? We have existing options that are much cheaper than laying out R12k upfront. Most of us can't afford that.

SA has 80% internet penetration. We are responsible for 75% of the continent's internet traffic. We have three bases in Antarctica with internet connectivity. Other African countries use SA subsidiaries for mobile internet. We didn't ask for Starlink. Elon keeps begging.
Z.@zachrevluc

@zilevandamme @elonmusk @ClaysonMonyela No one actually cares about South Africa if they want to stay living in the past, in the dirt, that’s their prerogative 🤷 Elon just wanted to help deliver internet on the cheap

@BassieLastrassi What is the point of economic growth if the citizens dont benefit. We are importing poor Europeans and American and they become overnight rich and we them like millionaires instead of creating south african rich people We are being pushed out of CPT. Digital nomads is no tour

@reallySober I doubt there is a capable one. Look at the new DA leader, he LIED just over a year ago, and when I called him out he blocked me. His lie was proven as well.... I don't trust any current white leader

From dusty streets in Soweto to building a football empire 🇿🇦🔥 Meet Kaizer Motaung — at 16 he played for Orlando Pirates, at 24 he dominated in the USA with Atlanta Chiefs and won Rookie of the Year… then came back home in 1970 and built Kaizer Chiefs by merging his name with his American club. Today, Amakhosi is more than football: 🏆 80+ trophies 👥 15+ million fans 💰 Over R2.6 billion in jersey sales (2M+ sold with Kappa South Africa) 🏢 Own village in Naturena + retail empire 🛡️ Funeral cover backed by Hollard From kicking a ball in the streets to building a multi-billion rand brand. Start where you are. Dream bigger. Build legacy. 💛✌🏾

Our reparations bill was settled in 1994 when we handed - on a silver platter - you the keys to the largest, most sophisticated economy on the continent. Never before or since has it been achieved on the continent. What is due is a massive thank you, humility and the carrying of white people on the hands for this incredible generocity you prick @CyrilRamaphosa.
SABC News@SABCNews

WATCH | President Cyril Ramaphosa says reconciliation cannot endure without reparations, adding that providing reparations is not just an act of goodwill but a moral obligation and a vital part of restoring justice.

@MazzucatoM @rodrikdani So what is your opinion on South Africa requiring Tesla to make public investment and public wealth commitment etc? Thats basically what they are saying.

Tesla received billions in government loans, tax credits and subsidies, making Elon Musk the world's richest person. The public? No equity stake, no profit-sharing, no guarantee of affordable access. My working paper with @rodrikdani has now been published in Industrial and Corporate Change. It explores the conditionalities—profit-sharing, reinvestment requirements, knowledge transfer—that can ensure industrial policy delivers public value, not just private wealth. [LINK IN NEXT POST]

@MusaNgxabane @ramalokot Zuma became president in 2009. We hosted on 2010. It takes way more than 1 year to plan, approve and build a stadium. Thabo was president during the bidding and building. Zuma hosted. Fairly Zuma was deputy.

@MusaNgxabane @ramalokot Mbeki built them. It was built for the 2010 world cup. Construction and approval started under mbeki. But Zuma also built infrastructure. Just not that stadium

Congrats Ethiopia: At investment conference in Addis Ababa, US$13 billion is committed from foreign investors in manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing. It's an accomplishment. Kenya had a similar investment drive recently and got US$2.9 billion from foreign investors.

Bafana Bafana Group Confirmed: 🇲🇽 Mexico 🇨🇿 Czech Republic 🇰🇷 South Korea 🇿🇦 South Africa Hugo Broos confirms 70% of his selection is in his head, only a few spots up for grabs. A couple question marks still for Broos in my opinion. Who will play up front? 2nd choice goalkeeper? Best centre back to play with Mbokazi? Is there a structure we can play that allows for Appollis, Zwane and Mofokeng? What’s your biggest concern for Bafana Bafana heading into the 2026 World Cup? 💭🤔
