EXCLUSIVE | “We will challenge them legally and deal with them, but if they want to come physically, we will meet them on the field.” KZN police commissioner Lt-Gen Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi has exposed a plot to silence him over his investigations into the activities of certain individuals in the national office. He has now categorically stated that the “smear campaign” against him originates within the organisation. But Mkhwanazi insists he and his team are not backing down, and their work will soon reveal the rogue elements hiding out at the SAPS HQ. In an interview with @eNCA, the veteran policeman says this isn’t the first time he’s been targeted for exposing criminals within the SAPS. Mkhwanazi has given an assurance that the level of policing in KZN won’t be affected by this. More on #DStv403.

BREAKING NEWS | At least 29 foreign nationals - Chinese and Malawian - have been arrested in Newcastle over illegally-registering SIM cards.
About 50 computers, 30 laptops, 500 registration machines and thousands of SIM cards have been seized.
The operation - under Vala Umgodi Newcastle - was conducted by the Newcastle Organised Crime Unit, Provincial TRT and PMB K9 Unit.
SIM cards registered in this manner are often used in the commission of crimes.
