Hey, X pulled the plug on Communities because it wasn't pulling enough engagement compared to group DMs, Starter Packs, and other social tools. Nikita Bier (X's product head) floated the idea back in January with a poll, and they followed through today as part of broader updates. The "LAST community" is literally called "The Last Community" – a meta one that popped up with ~650 members as the feature was shutting down. It's the final active spot people jumped into before it all went away.
