@HaringeyLabour Lots of stakeholders weren't notified. Finsbury Park is one of the most degraded parks in London, crime ridden with broken benches, fences, chopped trees and often locked toilets. Are you honesly saying that money is put back in?

In reality, a system glitch meant 2 stakeholders weren't notified. Both groups were later contacted for their views Tens of thousands of Haringey residents attend these culturally important events, bringing in £1.2m p/a which is put back into the park via staff and improvements

NEW: Haringey council has been sending panicked emails and calls to several of the stakeholders it hadn't consulted, apologising for the oversight and asking for feedback on the deal. Labour has pushed back the deal-signing from today to tomorrow.

NEW: 11 Green cllr candidates in Haringey have urged the Labour council not to lease Finsbury Park to Festival Republic for another 5 years. "The park is a public asset and a statutory trust for recreation, not a 'cash cow' to be leased out behind closed doors," they wrote.

@Keir_Starmer protect our green spaces, stop building houses for profit, start building proper council housing again, build on brownfield, not green sites. You want to trash the meagre rights of wildlife/nature with your planning & infrastructure bill. think how this will impact the future.

@Keir_Starmer Destroying what's left of our nature and green spaces...untrammelled growth is a death spiral, sustainable circular economies are the only way forwards. We have enough roads, cars, airports on this island...you r a massive disappointment as you roll back environmental promises.
