@AkiraSchizo @GoddessCatto I can relate to that. I was burned too many times when a game I wanted to play was coming out, only to find out that it's being censored in one way or another. These days it's better to assume censorship by default and move on rather than be disappointed.

@GoddessCatto I simply just cant give any game the benefit of the doubt anymore. Anytime I see spats I need to assume its censorship. We are living in a post-feminist-invasion industry, we need to have our guard up at all times.

This is why I say the Trails in the Sky Remake trilogy isn't actually being censored. It's not a matter of a character's age either since Kloe has her fully modeled panties in the game. Estelle having spats instead of panties seems to be an intentional choice...

If only. Unfortunately even some japanese games are now starting to become censored. This worked before, but doesn't work as well now. For example on the Nintendo eShop, I used to play japanese games that weren't released in the west or were censored in the west, but now they're censored there too. Still helps in many situations, but it's not the same as before. Sad life.

If you really want to enjoy anime and games without absurd Western censorship, the only option is to learn Japanese.

@gorogan01 @ChibiReviews Yes, I am also working on a project that I wanted to include mild fan service in. But after Steam suddenly pulled the dating sim LoveR Kiss for similarly mild fan service (allowing you to see underwear) I'm probably going to have to hold back on that.

Censorship is now hitting content outside of sexual content. Doki Doki Literature Club is now removed off of Google's Store for having "sensitive content". This means games with darker themes are basically not allowed anymore. youtu.be/aOUitj7AGNE

DDLC really is a game that brings awareness to mental health issues, where the player is allowed to explore incredibly dark situations. Many people, after playing DDLC, feel different about the struggles that they themself face, and can often reframe their own issues in a more positive light... This is what I mean when I say that the powers that be DO NOT want people to be free and in control of their own mind, their own psyche, and their own SOUL.

Funny that this is exactly what happened to me. I'm currently working on a game that I started years ago (pre-censorship) and invested a lot of money and time into it, but now due to all the censorship, it's close to impossible to find a place to release it where it will pass and not be considered "controversial", which wasn't the case a few years ago before the censorship crap started.

@ChibiReviews Censorship has such a chilling effect on creators. It's hard to justify taking any risks on a project that takes months or years of your life if it means being deplatformed. And what seemed normal when you started a project may become taboo by the time you're ready to release.

@IGN We still love games, just not "modern audience" games. Companies need to make good games like they did 10-15 years ago, without DEI propaganda and no ugly boss women.
