@vikramchandra How about using any extra solar power to electrolyze water and store as hydrogen? I think India's current solar capacity is being fully utilized. The method I suggested may be good to capture lightning energy in lightning rich places of India.

At first glance, this sounds like a good idea. I wonder how it is working in practice - especially when it comes to cost and safety.
India is building a lot of solar capacity - and storage is the big question.

China’s solar power plant in Dunhuang uses around 12,000 mirrors to focus sunlight onto a central tower, heating molten salt to extreme temperatures. That heat is stored and used to generate electricity on demand, including after sunset.
