@younguns89 @L69fs Don't need to "cope" at all. It's a tournament and there's disappointments. If you need to "cope" in sports.. You have bigger issues. You guys have been talking about the "Miracle on Ice" for 45 years... Glad you have one for the next 45.

You just know that if the canadian olympians had a group chat where they all conspired to demand trades to Toronto and Vancouver, it would take five minutes for the NHL to step in and implement a roster freeze for both teams

@younguns89 @L69fs And a one and done tournament produces upsets.. Simple as that. Doesn't make the team who won better. Greece won Euro 2004. Were they the best team in the tournament? No, but congratulations to them. And congrats to the US.

@younguns89 @L69fs If you were truthful, you'd know that Canada was the better team. You just had a goalie stand on his head. That doesn't take away from your victory, afterall, the goalieis part of the team. But don't think for a minute the players playing in front of him were the same class

@DebbieD75175537 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Point is. You only have to look as far as California to see govt laws, bans, or referendums to see freedoms are not absolute. You cannot do what you want, whenever you want, because you live inside society. You don't live by yourself. That's what laws do. They hinder freedom.

@DebbieD75175537 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 2/2 Besides, the US, state and thousands of private companies down south did the same thing, there was just massive pushback in the courts that ended up narrowing the types of employees that had to. Regardless, those types still had to. Try again.

President Elect Jake
@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 that says he asked for a trade or sens approached him. I believe sens asked him about 2yrs from now & he didn’t give them the ‘yes’ answer on resigning they wanted & left it open-ended. they thought get as much for him now before media grabs it and they get less. Just my opinion.

@dwyld24 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 I agree here. Leafs have been mismanaged for a while. But then again it was Harold Ballard's team for ages and he was an idiot. Pocklington was another order in Edmonton.... And I don't think they've gotten better since Maybe this year.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Ignoring politics and outside looking in, it seems basically every Canadian organization is very poorly managed from top down. Montreal seems the only legit one to play for any player, mcdavid seems he’s been halfway out the door, signing a 2yr extension, to me is very telling.

Brady Tkachuk reportedly informed the Ottawa Senators that he had NO intention of re-signing after his current contract expires 😬 The Sens started exploring the trade market, but it quickly became clear that the Panthers were the ONLY acceptable destination for the Tkachuk camp, per @SunGarrioch 🫣

Hockey is huge in Florida, I mean just look at all these fans who showed up to this Stanley Cup party. Surely you'd see a similar sized crowd in Chicago, Detroit, Philly, etc - let alone any Canadian market - if this happened there because hockey just so huge in Florida.

@Gaysexlegends1 @mrgrozz Do you think Tampa and panthers don't care about the sport? Hockey is huge in those places with all the transplants and is one of the fastest growing youth programs in the country

@BudsAllDayCast Hasek was 43 when he won the cup for Detroit. Balfour was 38 playing for us, mostly stood on his head. As for the SV%, the team in front of him played garbage. Does he make sense? Depends on what the Leafs put in front of him. Sometimes a safety net on a bad play is golden

I’m confused why Leafs fans are interested in Bobrovsky. You realize he’s a 37 year old coming off an .877 SV% right?

@NoLimit_19 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Jesus guy. Grow up You at first say US1A protects you from everything. I give you evidence that it doesn't. Then you're "no shit" Keep moving the goal posts Billy. You remind me of someone.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Conversation’s going nowhere cuz you dodge the point. US has narrow exceptions. Canada has broad hate speech laws punishing opinions and jokes. Pretending they’re the same is brain-dead. 1A actually protects speech you hate. Ours Doesn’t. Take care.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Yeah, no shit. US has tiny, narrow exceptions. Canada has vague hate speech laws that fuck people for opinions and feelings. Pretending they r the same is brain dead. 1A actually protects speech u hate. Our weak ass system doesn’t.

@NoLimit_19 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 US 1A is not an absolute shield to saying whatever you want. SCOTUS themselves explicitly carved out several instances where speech is unprotected. An easy Google search can tell you that. You cannot, anywhere on the planet, say whatever you want to say. There are limits.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Hate speech should not be a freedom; that’s exactly why Canada’s speech rights are weaker. Someone (usually the government) has to decide what counts as hate. US 1A protects even speech you dislike. Just move isn't an argument and is not a defence of better principles.

@NoLimit_19 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 It is. Everything in life is a choice, including where you live. You hate the violence that is happening in your neighborhood? Most don't wait for it to be corrected, they move. You think the US freedoms fit you better? Then move there Hate speech should not be a freedom.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Those good things are speech restrictions. Freedom indexes average everything. Canada ranks close but worse on actual expression. US 1A protects what Canada punishes. "Just move" isn't an argument.

@NoLimit_19 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Those are actually good things. By the way. If you search up any "Worldwide Human Freedom Rankings", Canada is always ahead of the USA. As for the things you mentioned, whatever the feelings are on them, both sides are free to move to where they are happier.

@greeeced @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Canada has hate speech laws, compelled speech (C-16), and strict gun control. The US has stronger 1A free speech protections and actual self-defence rights. That's the gap. Also all the new fkin bills that r being posed asw

@KkMeyer396249 @L69fs Dude, put this exact statement into Gemini. If the NHL imposed a rule that any person entering the NHL had to sign with their closest proximity city from where they were born, which team would have the greatest success?

@greeeced @L69fs It wouldn't be a sprinkle. Habs would have every East Coaster and big name European under your system. Kuch, Barkov, Mack, Sid, Drai, Nylander, Kaprizov etc

@KkMeyer396249 My point was, significantly more NHL players come from the greater Toronto area. This has nothing to do with being a leaf fan. A full complete team can be made from around here easily. Not so full and complete everywhere else.

This Leafs fan wants to make Montreal into an unstoppable juggernaut. Crosby, MacKinnon, Kuch, Barkov, Drai all become habs
John@greeeced

@L69fs Let's go a step further. All teams can only select players that were born in their city. All players born elsewhere are attached to the closest NHL city. Those teams choose from those pools first, then the geofence widens. You all know in that scenario Toronto wins annually

@Emilio23196502 @OnlyInCanadaEh1 Brainwashed about what? Lol I get you can't stand Carney or his policies but this isn't a political statement. Name one freedom that you lack that the US has over you. Just one thing you can't do that they can. My statement was about freedoms. It wasn't about anything else.
