@Wertandrew For sure, if Discover had multiple ways for players to actually search for new games then algorithm wouldnt matter so much. Like searching maps by tags. Categories and rows need reworks. Now one map can be in multiple, while not actually matching any of the categories.

3 reasons why creators and players are not happy with UEFN: 1) Epic's priorities are not to make the tools better, but to release more tools instead >> everything 80% works 2) Epic thinks that they can make the perfect discovery algorithm, when in reality they need to let the players customize their discovery >> algo exploitation for spam 3) Updates to tools are never for artists, just for engineers >> content source is only through directly referencing successful games These 3 reasons prevent innovation from ever happening inside the ecosystem.

@CooliSushi Yea there doesnt seem to be any feedback to the player that they are hit. Some kind of sound and visual effect, knockback even would be great.

Stress tested Zombielike tonight and I’m really happy with the results! There are still a few things I want to clean up tomorrow, but if everything goes well we might be ready for public release very soon.

Here’s a quick clip showing how to convert identical meshes into an Instanced Static Mesh (ISM). 1️⃣ Select all identical meshes (same mesh + material) 2️⃣ Open Modeling Tools → XForm 3️⃣ Click Harvest Instances 4️⃣ Set Component Type to Non-Hierarchical (ISM) 5️⃣ Name the actor and Accept You’ve now converted all those meshes into a single actor. If the material looks broken, open the material and enable “Used with Instanced Static Meshes” in the usage flags. This is just the beginning of the ISM optimization rabbit hole, have fun! @FNCreate

@UEFN_NOOB @duos_with_dad Oh damn I thought ISMs can only be used on non-destructive objects (or that if I combined them then they would destroy all as one prop). This might be useful for my map with destruction then 🤔

@duos_with_dad I wasn't aware that ISM are better for movable items and also that HISM can overload some mobile depending on numbers used, think your methos overall in a lot of situations is better than HISM, really glad you posted this thanks. Was just reading this but will look more into it

UEFN Optimisation One of my maps stats before optimisation Upload Size - 1140mb Download Size - 160mb I spent a day going through all my textures and any assets. I was expecting a huge difference as I removed one asset pack alone that was 4gb. Results after Upload - 1036mb Download - 127mb I’m in shock to be honest. Can some of you make me feel better and tell me your upload and download for your projects. I’m intrigued to know all your memory stats.

@duos_with_dad It used to disable normal audio when it came out. Then some time later they made it not do that and everyone started using it. If you're not using it you're at an disadvantage :/. Normal audio is just too hard to understand what direction the sound is coming from as well.

Serious question, if Fortnite removed Visualize Sound Effects or made it disable normal audio when enabled, how many top players would actually be affected? Has Visual Sound become part of the meta or would the best players still dominate regardless? Curious what people think.

@dummblond Well for some things its better to have the pivot in a different spot, but yeah an option to use a centered pivot would be awesome, similar to how we have local and global transform options.
