There’s a huge percentage of Trumpist rhetoric that is essentially guys who dialed into politics in early 2023 saying, hey, why were never told X? Why is Y a secret? When X and Y are the govt equivalent of the existence of corn flakes and the general advice not to lick the sidewalk.

1. You can not be a probationary employee and have worked for the feds for 16 years. 2. If you are a qualified petson you will find other employment. 3. No person is esential and you must always consider that you may be out of a job. 4. If you supported Trump, you know that the federal government was a weaponised machine to steal your money and pay off your enemy. It was all going to end one day.

I just don't know what to do with stuff like this - it legitimately hurts my heart to see people suffering, but I also feel a sincere conviction that it's fundamentally immoral to let "I only thought he was going to ruin *other people's* lives!" pass as an acceptable mea culpa.

Unless there's bipartisan support to punish the protests, then it does get less convenient. You've now owned a leftist, does it feel like a magat owning a lib?

This is something I personally disagreed with, when more centrist dems said all of this protesting will disappear under Trump. And I was wrong and I have to grapple with that. Friends of mine who used to post 10 times a day about this have simply moved on.
