Dependence on liberal subscribers means the media has every incentive to manufacture a political environment that may not exist.
2016 was Clinton at >90% to win.
2018 was right—but the GOP gained 2 Senate seats
2020 was 8 point Biden win, Trump losing Texas
2022 was close-ish, but with consistent hype about Roe as the great equalizer
2024 was brat summer
Now in 2026 the narrative will be that it’s going to be worse than 2018. I doubt it, but we’ll see.
But beware of manufactured narratives they need to keep subscriber $$$ coming in.
