I’m seeing some takes out there that the Chiefs must draft an offensive player with the 9th pick to give Patrick Mahomes a viable weapon since it’s unlikely they draft this high ever again in the Mahomes era.
While I’m not opposed to that idea, I just feel edge rusher is a far bigger need. KC’s sack production has gone down and the strong presence from the defensive line has declined the last two years.
I wouldn’t be upset with Carnell Tate or a defensive back, but if Bain or Bailey fall to 9 or if there’s a way to trade up to get one of them, that’s the move to make if you’re the Chiefs.
