Update: I helped my friend prep for this Data Centre interview with some AoCs and he got the offer. His response: “you sabi this Data Centre thing 😩”
Plot twist: I never did DCOps, I just spent years working at a DC in Lagos and managed another DC somewhere in West Africa while paying attention to the Ops team daily activities. One interesting thing about Tech is you really learn by being there daily.

@OBA_PRENEUR Many parent don't even want to come back. The parent you brought to come and "enjoy" are laboring because you want to pack all the pounds in UK. Some of them can't even pay for travel insurance for their parent.

We all say the same thing when we send for our parents: "Mama, come and rest. Come and see your grandkids." But let’s be honest with ourselves for many of us, that "rest" is a lie. The moment they step off that plane, we strip them of their status as parents and rebrand them as full-time, unpaid domestic help.
It’s becoming a "norm" in our community, and it’s heartbreaking to watch.
I was at the market a couple of months ago and saw a scene I can’t get out of my head. There was a couple, perfectly dressed for the cold, their kids all bundled up in thick designer coats. Behind them walked the grandmother. She was in a thin Nigerian Buba, sneakers, and a flimsy little jacket from Shein or Temu that couldn't hold out a breeze, let alone the winter. She was shivering. And the couple? They just laughed and said, "She’s not used to the weather yet!"
