Spoke with two sources close to this situation. Both corroborated. A shoving match ensued following the Sunday loss to South Alabama where Park was the final out. He emotionally threw his bat in frustration and it rubbed several people the wrong way. A shouting match and shoving match ensued between Park and another player. Temperatures got hot. This week, Park had a meeting with the coaches. His commitment to returning in 2027 was brought up. Neither party told the other side what they wanted to hear. Park reportedly was not officially kicked off the team, but he does not plan to return to the program. The transfer portal opens in a few weeks where he’ll likely be a target for SEC programs seeking their next shortstop. Park is a potential Day 1 pick in 2027.

Commissioner Roger Goodell went to see McDonald after he was not selected in round one, and invited him to come back tonight so he could give him a hug on the stage once he is picked. McDonald and his family extended their stay in Pittsburgh and now will be back in the green room tonight.
