@BereIKAberezIKA I try to zoom in and oft insulate certain segments of a story that I enjoy. All the better when you can link it to the exoteric message of the story, it illuminates a lot about the latter and the author in general. That’s how I “connect” to the storyteller.

You can get people who semi-regularly follow the Ukraine war with a better grasp of the modern battlefield than the IDF does. No ERA/nets for the tanks,no recon drones, no attempt to detect or jam enemy FPVs. Drone warfare is just not integrated into their doctrine.

I’ve warned Europeans about this before, but if the US stops seeing Europe as a partner to help contain China, it will go looking for a different partner to support. Maybe a large country that borders China, with nukes and oil. The worst case for Europe isn’t merely a neutral US.
