🚨 Bhopal Metro is running almost empty. Trips were cut. Timings were changed. Still, on most weekdays, not even 200 people are using it. Meanwhile, the state govt is spending around ₹8 Lakh every day. In 2.5 months, this amounts to nearly ₹6 Crore in expenditure. While Payal Nag is breaking the internet with her GOLD at the World Archery Para Series, here is a story from 2023 worth revisiting.
In her toughest phase, the local administration led by then Balangir Collector Chanchal Rana stepped in.
Recognizing her talent, they arranged an art tutor at CCI, helping Payal refine her skills. She even impressed Anu Garg(the current Chief Secy of Odisha) by sketching her portrait during a visit.
Garg directed the Social Security & Empowerment of Persons With Disabilities department to support her.
Then came a turning point - Payal’s current coach spotted her in a viral Twitter video of her sketching, reached out, and inspired her to take up archery.
The rest is history. From art to archery, from struggle to glory.
Behind every success story, there are silent enablers. 🙏
