@icing @programmingart still feels like a detail we could perhaps poke the peeps about since we identified a scenario where BoringSSL clearly does not replicate the API behavior of OpenSSL ... if we get bored.

@bagder There is also the growing suspicion that people see this as a last opportunity before one kicks the bucket, now that we are above…35.😬

After tonight's event, I was asked to participate in selfie photos by *five* individuals - more than I've ever done before. Of course I'm happy to do it, but it is a kind of attention I am not not at all used to.

The Cloudflare Protocols team is hiring a software engineer interested in network, transport and application protocols. We own the front door that speaks HTTP (/2 + /3), TLS + QUIC to the world. boards.greenhouse.io/cloudflare/job… (ignore location, role is open wherever we can hire).

@apenwarr I have no doubt that twitter will be a success. Because, whatever it may become, its owner will declare it so. „result-based post-strategy“ Has been highly successful before science was invented.

If you’re going to predict twitter’s demise you need to do it on another platform. Otherwise if you’re right you won’t be able to prove it. Relatedly if you predict its massive success, do it here. If you’re wrong, nobody will ever know.

The @Europarl_EN is under a sophisticated cyberattack. A pro-Kremlin group has claimed responsibility. Our IT experts are pushing back against it & protecting our systems. This, after we proclaimed Russia as a State-sponsor of terrorism. My response: #SlavaUkraini

The truth is I'd probably be a better person if this site died and I *didn't* migrate somewhere else.

Load management for services splits into two. Smallish services can run on a single host, and they’ll be pretty reliable. Computers are fast. Once you grow past that single host you enter a world of hell. Managing load for large services becomes a constant job.

It’s pretty weird to very confidently tweet such utter bollocks. Twitter’s infra is famously almost entirely on-prem, so dismissing the load question as “the cloud solves it” is nuts. Twitter is DDoS-as-a-service: managing load is the entire ballgame.

Real-talk: Twitter isn't going anywhere Twitter is, at its core, not a complicated piece of software. There is an text box and you post stuff into that box. You hit "Tweet" and it submits that info to the server and sends it to people who follow you. This is very simple. 1/7

Are you hiring privacy or information security folks? I know a number of really excellent folks who are coincidentally looking for work for exactly the reason you think they are. Email me at lea.makes.respect@gmail.com
