@JackThompsonFOX You do realize that she is Canadian and won the majority of her medals for Canada. She only started competing for the US a few years ago when she married an American.

Kaillie Humphries wasn't going to let any backlash from the left stop her from giving her Order of Ikkos medal to President Trump at the White House. After coming out as a Republican Trump voter in an interview with me after the Olympics, Kaillie says she's been called "every name and word under the sun" and even a "traitor" as a native Canadian. But for her, the most decorated women's bobsledder in Olympic history, she's used to having a target on her back. And as a mom, proving wrong the doubters who warned her about competing again after giving birth is the most satisfying part.

@TonyDasco This is super normal. Not sure how they deal with teams but individuals who win gold absolutely get tested. Before they can leave the venue

@TODAYshow So is he basically saying the White House faked the whole thing or just that the video makes it seem fake?

@TonyDasco Maybe the White House shouldn’t be posting AI videos of Tkachuk talking down on Canada. Go have a word with them

@michaelgraffeo @stevemagness @RejectSocialism So funny you mention that. Eileen spent summers there every year from an early age, is very fluent in Mandarin and I’m not sure who she dates but was entirely raised by her Chinese mom and grandma (American dad absent). Does that meet your standard now?

@stevemagness @RejectSocialism I said rarely, not never. And you’re right, Mondo is a great example. I think his spending half his year each year there, dating a local, and making the effort to learn the language all makes it feel less like he was bought and more like he made a choice. But that’s vibes

@ilanared @WayneBerg14 @nytimes @TheAthletic Currently USA has 33 medals China has 12. There are 4 times as many humans in China as there are in the US. Freedoms afford more opportunity, growth, etc etc. hope this helps.

From @TheAthletic: Eileen Gu was the highest earner at the 2026 Winter Olympics. "The scientist, politician, skier, model, and student is like a magician, the audience dazzled by her mastery but somewhat irked by how she does it," our columnist writes. nyti.ms/3ZTJgio

@PennStRealist @SallyJenki Can you accept that the woman who worked super hard for that gold might not see it the same way you did? And even in the moment if they didn’t know better than to laugh along, has a single one said a word about the women not being a second class invite?

The President made a joke, or at least was explaining that they would be sharing the visit with the Women's Team. They could tell the president was having fun with them, or trying. And they laughed. They responded positively to whatever the president said. They were excited, they just won the gold, and the president was on the line. Sally's post implies that they sat there and said - whoa, we have to share the White House with women? What?! How crazy is that?! That's not how I saw it. At all.

@ilanared @HansMahncke I didn't say she wasn't but both of them should be representing USA. Gu chose a payday, nothing more than that although she could have made a fortune representing Team USA as well.

Eileen Gu could have been the quintessential All-American icon, the kind of athlete brands build entire campaigns around, a poster child for talent and opportunity. Instead, she chose to be deployed as a public relations tool for a communist regime in exchange for a pile of cash. It is one of those rare moments when a children’s fable about choice, loyalty, and temptation seems to play out in real life, detail by detail.

A lot of people are tweeting harsh opinions about Eileen Gu representing China on their smartphone made in…China. If you’re such a purist, you might have to hand write your opinion and mail it

@HansMahncke She has literally no reason to rep them other than money. Her dad was born here and her mom moved here early in life, she can’t even pull the “my mother lived there most of her life i want to represent her”

This right here. Do you know how many U.S. athletes go into debt, work multiple jobs etc just to train because there is no national funding? Let’s work on this first before worrying about Eileen eh? Also you should be able to make a trick before you write a think piece
spark@yunaslarks

have the ppl whining abt eileen gu considered maybe if you want US-born athletes to represent you should actually support ur athletes instead of making them finance everything themselves? Eileen owes the US nothing. you aren’t entitled to her athletic accomplishments, get a grip
