I have just been subject to the most vile racist abuse I have ever received in my life. I understand there is growing anti-immigration sentiment in this country, but it’s not my fault I am a brown person who was born in England. I pay my taxes in full, I donate to British charities, I am fully integrated into British culture. Genuinely, what more can I do? And what can I do to prevent this happening again? Never have I felt so unwelcome in the place I call home. I’m devastated.
