A few years ago my dad and I made a pact to create a bucket list of experiences to share while we still had the time. Since then we’ve made memories around the world. Today, at 91, he’s with me in one of my favorite places on earth - the Bahamas. Grateful for these memories ❤️

Another Christmas I will be spending with family. Why? Because my buddy @LingtonSax saved my life. And I love him for his friendship and mentorship. He is an amazing friend. Everyday 22 veterans attempt or succeed in committing suicide. I reached out to Michael and he reached back. He told me I was worth being here and the world would be less without me. He had a pure tone and could bend notes and your heart like no other. I searched my music library playlists for Johnny Hodges and - gasp - I hadn't imported his collection! What is wrong with me! Yesterday was Cannonball Adderly's Birthday. Born in 1928, he lived through some of the most difficult times for Black Americans. Today we take for granted that an entire generation of Black Americans gave us the best music that was heard and loved by all. Jazz.... We forget that those musicians were allowed to play on stage but not allowed to walk in the front door. We should remember and learn from the past while respecting the musicians that have left us a wealth of musical genius that allowed us to have @GAAlbright , @LingtonSax , @eugegroove, Michael Brecker, @DaveKoz and Patrick Bartley. Oh to be able to have a lesson with Mr. Adderly! (Our any of the above actually) Here's to Cannonball Adderly!

I have posted about the tragic death of a human being for their beliefs and the celebrations that are being posted about his death. I have also posted about a person that saved my life by just reaching out and talking to me. @LingtonSax saved my life. Did you know that 22 soldier or veterans attempt or succeed in committing suicide every day? I sent a message to one of my heroes and he answered me with kindness and brotherhood. This is the humanity that we should all strive for. Thank you @LingtonSax, my dear friend for making the past few years possible for me. I wish there were more people like you that would show us the way to compassion and humanity. @GAAlbright, @DaveKozMusic and @kennyg all spread love, joy and true humanity with their music and their love of people. Thank you all for being who you are inside and the things you do to promote good will around the world.

@pureMetatron We punish those online for online bullying. How is celebrating the death of a human being and wishing death upon their family any different than bullying? Do you agree with me that @elonmusk should suspend their accounts for bullying? Just a thought.

As a former soldier, I know what war is, what war does and what the taking of a life means. The vile assassination of another human being for his political beliefs is the same as the killing of Martin Luther King, Jr., JFK, RFK, Melissa Hortman, Harvey Milk - This is pure evil. Anyone that makes fun of or celebrates the killing of another should be banned from any and all platforms. Inhumanity to your fellow man should never be tolerated in any form. We punish those that bully others online - how is this any different @elonmusk ? The death Of Charlie Kirk in front of his wife and children is the horrible act of evil and we as a society should strive to do better, be better and live better. @pureMetatron said it best - call out evil and shine a light on that which is the darkest among us. Learn from what you see and be better than you were on September 10, 2025 when a human being was assassinated for his beliefs. Prayers for his family. Prayers for those that have lost their way and celebrated this heinous act. Peace be with you Kirk family, you deserved so much better than society gave you.
