@FrankDecorte I am glued to my sreen, making estimates constantly in order to know when to set my alarm clock (if needed), maybe it's time to lite a candle, it won't hurt I suppose!

@janschipper Hi Jan, We've done several estimations about the km's left on the detour. We've taken a bit of marge with our 170 km to create a correct expectation management. The last part of the detour is more or less on paved paths, which must go 'easier'. Fingers crossed. Keep you informed

Recap day 45 (4198km/2595miles)*: a very tough and mountanous detour tooks a lot of time for the 93km #KarelSabbe did yesterday. We estimate that about 170km are left to accomplish the #FKT on #PCT. it seems to hard to do it without sleeping *all distances are estimations

@FrankDecorte 2/2 ... So he needs around 26 to 28 hours to finish ... So, I guess he will go to the trailhead at the end of the detour, take a shorter sleep break, and then go for the final 69km.

@FrankDecorte And it seems Karel has changed his timetable. For the second day in a row, he started one hour earlier. It seems he's skipping some sleep in the final stage of the PCT in order to finish sub 47 days. At 5:45 AM local time he started the detour #FingersCrossed

It is 3.42 AM local time and #KarelSabbe did start day 45 after his 97km run on day 44. Where he ends today will be crucial to know if he can smash it to the end on friday. #FKT #PCT

Recap day 45 (4105km/2537miles): after 107km #KarelSabbe met Kobe who had to take a ferry and to hike in 23km to reach the meeting point. We are 240 km away (extra 64km - 4250m climbing and descending on the detour included) from the #FKT on #PCT Thats less than a Barkleys 😉

@FrankDecorte So my prediction, based on Karel's data and the info on the detour, for Karel's arrival is 45:05:30. I assume Karel will push the last 135 km in one streak. 3/3
