@gurdeepsappal The report on the President-TMC issue has the official explanation buried deep into the story, when it should have been in the third or fourth para.

Indian Express loses its credibility, starts misreporting. 1. Yesterday, it reported that sunken Iranian ship Dena was offered shelter by Indian authorities. It was a single line claim in the entire lead story, that came only from sources. Till now, NO OFFICIAL statement by Government of India has confirmed it. Yesterday, foreign minister Jaishankar didn’t answer it despite asked about it. Yet, IE fails to report it even though it again today carries a lead front page report on the subject. 2. The main headline today says ‘Iran apologies for attack on neighbours, Trump calls its surrender’. But it entirely missed the key phrase from the statement of Iranian President, which is: “unless attacks come from them.” This means Iran is not renouncing attacks entirely; it is saying: * If neighbouring countries host US or Israeli military operations, Iran may strike targets there. * If they remain neutral, Iran claims it will not attack them. In strategic terms this is deterrence messaging, not a peace pledge. But @IndianExpress deliberately chooses to omit it! Why?

Charred pineapple yogurt foam and banana blossom skewers?? Open secret in Delhi's diplomatic circles that visiting dignitaries now routinely return from such strange meals at official banquets and order Indian food from room service.

@Shrabonti @suhasinih I would be fine with this, applying standard rules of good dining/fusion food - does it make sense (not sure mustard will go with dhokla), and meat options for some courses.

Everyone talking about how hard it will be to get 100 medals in 2036 Oly but I'm still wondering how JS quietly increased our medal tally at Paris 2024 from 6 medals to 8 medals.
ANI@ANI

#WATCH | Surat, Gujarat | ICC Chairman Jay Shah says, "The Prime Minister has brought the Commonwealth Games to India in 2030, but we shouldn't stop there. We must also bring the Olympics here in 2036. We won eight medals in the 2024 Olympics, but I want to tell you all that eight medals won't be enough in 2036. We have to win at least 100 medals. Of those 100 medals, we will win at least 10 from Gujarat. I have complete faith in that. In the 2023 ODI World Cup, we won hearts but could not win the trophy. At a private event, I said that in 2024, we would win both the hearts and the cup and we did, winning the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup final. We also won the Champions Trophy..."

On this day in 1911, Jana Gana Mana was first performed in a public gathering, at the 1911 Calcutta session of the Congress. The lady who led a group of schoolchildren in the performance was Sarala Devi Chaudharani, Rabindranath Tagore's niece and one of the most fascinating figures of the nationalist movement. A gold medalist from Bethune College, she became a school teacher, and then helped her mother edit the nationalist Bengali paper Bharati. After marriage, she moved to Punjab and helped her activist husband Rambhuj Chaudhury edit the nationalist weekly Hindustan, first in Urdu and then English. She also found the time to found the Bharat Stree Mahamandal (All India Women's Organization), the first All India Organization for women, and the Lakshmi Bhandar to popularize native handicrafts produced by women She was an acolyte of the Mahatma, and carried a spirited correspondence with him for over two decades. After 1935, she retired from public life and turned to spiritualism. Her autobiography, Jivaner Jhara Pata(The Scattered Leaves Of My Life) describes her journey with feminism and women's education and the trials and travails of an educated opinionated Indian women of the time, and was serialised in the magazine Desh. The number of remarkable women who played an active part in our freedom struggle is literally unparalleled in world history.

Bharat Law House is selling limited editions of the Calligraphic Constitution. Presented a copy to a staunchly secular lawyer. He and his more secular junior just called aghast that it had pictures of Ramayana & Mahabharat. Wanted to know whether it was genuine 🤣🤣🤣
