The #Bears have been lobbying for draft pick compensation following the hire of Ian Cunningham as #Falcons GM. Today, the NFL responded stating there will be no picks coming: “The matter is now closed following the club’s appeal. The NFL informed the Bears today they will not receive compensatory picks. The policy is designed to provide picks for the Primary Football Executive position. The League determined Mr. Cunningham did not fill that role with the Falcons as it is defined in League rules.”

A lot of video of Caleb from 8/2 practice of Caleb having wild accuracy during the net drill. Let’s be clear Caleb had a fantastic first rep in the net drill there is video showing that. the second net drill was not great but can clearly see the passion and desire 2 do better

Ozzy trapilo ran with the ones all day today 8/2 and held his own against Dayo… be interesting to see if Braxton jones becomes a trade asset or just great depth…. #BearsNation #ChicagoBears

@GBraggsJr23 From end zone view wright played it perfectly was in dj’s hip pocket and got between Caleb and DJ… hope in a game dj tries to get a hand in there and break it up but this was just practice didn’t see much effort from dj to break it up

Final play of practice is an interception by Nashon Wright. Caleb Williams tried to fit it in to DJ Moore. Wright made a nice play on the ball. Defense gets the last laugh in a competitive practice that featured a lot of Red Zone work.

@GBraggsJr23 Think braxton’s time is done… ozzy got every rep with the 1’s and looked rather solid today! Will be nice to have a young healthy tackle we can hopefully count on as Braxton has had injury history and looking for a contract next year we wwould love to avoid paying…

Day 9 Camp Recap: Shoutout Ben Johnson for going full throttle fairly quickly this year at camp. This was the 4th padded practice out of 9 so far and tomorrow will be the 5th out of 10. They could've easily gone light today in terms of workload and yet they had LIVE tackling periods once again. Caleb Williams looks really comfortable right now. He's making an array of different throws all over the field to different targets. Up the seam, back shoulder, back pylon, coming across on play action, finding the 2nd and 3rd read. And all to the many weapons this roster seems to have on offense. Colston Loveland is one of those weapons. He continues to impress. Showing the ability to run routes like a WR, block like a TE, box out on jump balls like a center in the NBA. He's got the size, speed and agility. I've been surprised at the amount of #84 jerseys fans have already bought. They'll be everywhere soon enough. Dude is a player. Luther Burden didn't have as big a day as he did on Thursday but he did have one specific route in 1 on 1s where he made a quick move at the LOS and then hauled in a back shoulder throw where he made a very difficult catch look easy. Late hands and the whole thing was just smooth as silk. Twitchy is the word you keep hearing as he creates separation. As @adamjahns reported, Ozzy Trapilo took all the reps with the 1st team today. Braxton with the 2s and Kiran out with an injury. If I had to bet, Ozzy is the leader in the clubhouse with 1st team reps and it just appears like it's his job to lose. But the coaches continue to say that this is a 3 man battle and they are still evaluating. Drew Dalman and Caleb Williams are consistently having problems with the snap. It comes in HOT and even today Caleb was shaking his hand after get another botch. That might be the biggest issue for the offense right now. The defensive line had their moment as well today. During a particular team session they had Caleb Williams running for his life and Dayo Odeyingbo won his reps on at least 2 of those plays. But I would also say 1 easily could've been deemed a coverage sack as Caleb couldn't find anywhere to go with the football. The secondary continues to be a strength of this team. They battled with intensity in 1 on 1s as Kyler Gordon yelled to the crowd to root for the defense for once! Kyler also completely blew up a run up the middle, missiling his way into D'Andre Swift. Just completely trucked him. The practice ended with Nashon Wright intercepting Caleb Williams intended tight window throw to DJ Moore. Nashon has a ton of size at the CB position. Will be interesting to see who is CB2 when Jaylon Johnson returns. Nashon has made some plays and is pushing Tyrique Stevenson. Although, they'll all be needed and the depth seems promising. Day 10 is tomorrow at Soldier Field. Full pads is the plan. Would be cool if Ben Johnson had enough emphasis for a competitive practice for their first time stepping into Soldier Field in front of their fans. Tickets are still available. Only 10 dollars. I encourage anyone that wants to see all this for yourself to go. It's worth and good time for families. Not as crazy as gamedays. Another step in the right direction for Ben Johnson and company. Keep stacking the days. 🧱 x 🧱

Caleb Williams is dialed in once again, ladies and gentlemen. Rolled out and found Rome Odunze on the backside and fired a frozen rope between defenders. Tight window throw would be putting it mildly. Maybe his best throw of camp so far.
