@MrOrr_geek @MakeMathMoments @MathletePearce I keep going back to the idea of, "Tell less, ask more." I feel that this is such an important concept for educators as it is so easy to just give the information/answers we want to hear in order to move a lesson along without allowing for student thinking or curiosity.

I used to think the volume of the classroom dictated the quality of the teacher. I now know learning can be loud and can be messy. Loud classrooms aren’t necessarily managed poorly and quiet ones don’t always indicate learning is happening.

Before explicit instruction … I always like to see how my students solve problems by themselves . Sometimes, I even steal some of their strategies . I love their determination and grit .

It’s funny, my shirt is by @lululemon and I love their clothes, but it was a gift because they are not quite in a teacher’s budget, and they don’t offer a “teacher discount.” And they call their employees “educators”👀
