@AlamusPrime @neverlie You're allowed to rebrand their blobby logo in your own style for your page. That's the whole point. That's why its a black blob. So you can make it your own.

A logo is the face of a brand, unless it has a specific product or spokesperson. Patreon’s business model is to showcase creators, and then their logo is placed over a wide variety of content. And it looks like a liver shaped shit which degrades the content. I mean, just look at the other comments in this thread. People who don’t do design as a profession like us are recoiling from the logo and mocking it. That is not a good thing. From a UI/UX perspective, that means the logo is so bad that it is noticed and not in a good way. Though I guess you could argue any attention is good attention, it isn’t for the creator whose work needs to be plastered with such a shit logo.

@AlamusPrime @neverlie A logo is not a brand. There are a dozen other factors in play that make up branding. Your hang-up on the way their logo visually looks means nothing towards their goal of creating it in the first place.

I disagree. If their goal is to be a platform for creatives, then they must present themselves as a reputable gallery. Right now with this latest design, it is as if they’re showcasing art in a crack den. A logo is the face of a company/product/service, and signature of their brand. This is why the aesthetic matters. And this latest incarnation of their logo leaves a bad aftertaste. It’s postmodern slop and people are growing weary of it.
