This is wild. 143 million people thought they were catching Pokémon. They were actually building one of the largest real-world visual datasets in AI history. Niantic just disclosed that photos and AR scans collected through Pokémon Go have produced a dataset of over 30 billion real-world images. The company is now using that data to power visual navigation AI for delivery robots. Players didn't just walk around with their phones. They scanned landmarks, storefronts, parks, and sidewalks from every angle, at every time of day, in lighting and weather conditions that staged photography would never capture. They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget. Niantic collected this systematically, data point by data point, across eight years, while users thought the only thing at stake was catching a rare Charizard. The most valuable AI training datasets in the world aren't being assembled in data centers. They're being built by people who have no idea they're building them.

In 2014 I filed a lawsuit against @hamiltonpolice. Eight days later 23 officers showed at my home with a search warrant for a ‘grow operation.’ It took 27 minutes for 23 of them to search a 1,600 sq ft home for a grow operation. They didn’t search the 42 acres of property my home sat on. They didn’t search the wooded area or the two 40 ft shipping containers on it. They took all my notebooks from the gun safe pertaining to notes I’d made about corruption in the department. Those notes were extensive, with names. They found no drugs. Their lawyer admitted they took the books. He then denied the same in court, even though we had the email. They filled for an order to seal the warrant, the ITO (evidence they gave to judge that proved I’m a drug dealer) and RTJ (what they told the courts they seized.) 12 years later I still don’t know how Hamilton Police obtained a search warrant to come into my home and empty my children’s toy box on the landing looking for a ‘grow operation.’ It would appear through discovery to the lawsuit this warrant had been issued on nothing more than an anonymous Crimestoppers tip. Which bad actors from Hamilton police probably sent themselves. I live in a country where the police can lie to a judge, and then hide what they said from scrutiny. #police #corruption #ontario #onpoli #canpoli #canada And just to give you an idea this is the amount of cops I opened my door too -
