@daysofroarpod Your arm only has so many bullets, and the idea should be to utilize as many of those at the MLB level as possible. It’s rare that pitchers make it to FA in tact, and even when they do, I typically wouldn’t want to sign them.

I have endlessly criticized Scott Harris for two saeasons..but my guess is..he went to AJ Sunday night or Monday morning with the idea of promoting Jackson Jobe..it was an outstanding idea..3 weeks late..but when you correct a mistake with an inspired idea..you deserve props

@jgorosh There is an unhealthy push for them to choose at a young age and specialize way before they should. Read the comments, it's a fact.

In AZ your kid has to be playing year round baseball by age 8 to have a chance to play on a club team as a teen. There are no seasons. It's year around. No time for football, basketball, soccer or anything else. Kids are forced to choose and in some cases it seems parents are more invested than the kids. Your child has a 2% chance to play division 1 sports and a .03% chance to go pro.... I hate to break it to you, your not raising the next Mike Trout and your glory days are far gone. Are youth sports this ridiculous where you live?

Multiple guys threatening to quit this morning. They just got a raise. But they want it to be bigger. Here’s the thing: - they are right. Paying them $.50 more per hour won’t sink the business. - but paying everyone $.50 becomes a problem for the business. I WANT to pay everyone more. I WANT to give everyone more time off. I WANT to (insert every good benefit). But all of these things are real compensation and costs on the business. I have a responsibility to the whole organization to run an excellent and profitable business so that we all have the security and consistency needed to rely on this job for our families. So I am not sure how I will handle these guys. I will probably try to explain the above to them and see how it goes. Wish me luck.

@OPSenheimer Also- having a cutter and sweeper on the same plane creates a tunneling effect and makes it difficult for the hitter to distinguish. The idea behind having multiple planes of breaking pitches kind reminds me of a pro golfer who can hit a variety of trajectories into a green

I love that he mentioned getting 10-17 inches of movement on his slider/sweeper. Just so happens in Lakeland he had 1 of his 25 sliders with 9 inches or less break. Just so happens, 16 of his 34 in the AFL have. I think he was working on a more traditional slider in the AFL.
