The Rana Plaza tragedy, which killed more than 1,100 people, has cast a haunting shadow over garment workers in Bangladesh for 13 years. Yet despite continuous calls for reforms of the industry, progress has been inexcusably slow. Workers must have the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining, and companies must be held accountable for human rights abuses to prevent the tragedy from repeating. Workers’ rights are human rights.
