On this date in 2020, there were 1,385 people in Connecticut who were hospitalized with COVID-19.
Today, there are 309. And the number continues to steadily decline.
This is the difference a vaccine makes.

.@GovNedLamont says indoor mask mandate will go on a bit longer but may not remain for those who are vaccinated. Seems like everything is open to 100% one month from today.
@ryanhanrahan@easygranby@GovNedLamont@em_brindley Fudging the numbers from 2.7% CT Covid-19 Data's number to 2.68% Lamont's number. We need a definition for fudging numbers if that is what qualifies for "fudging"
@ryanhanrahan@GovNedLamont@em_brindley Mistakes like this have happened far too often in my opinion. Especially when someone from the sidelines can track this for free and someone gets paid to do this. Addition and subtraction is not that hard.
I've said this before but it continues to be true:
Connecticut's Black and Hispanic residents are not being vaccinated as quickly as white residents.
According to state data, the disparities are widening.
@GovNedLamont Not good to see this number of deaths in a single day (highest since 3/2). Hopefully this is just an anomaly. Here are the latest daily charts.

@_KenAdams__ It would make sense, however a lot of companies in our state require routine testing, or negative tests after traveling out of state. More people are going on trips now they are vaccinated. Just a thought.
For the first time I can remember Canada has more COVID-19 cases per capita than the US. 22 per 100k in Canada vs 20 per 100k in the US. Much lower prior immunity, extremely slow vax rollout, and more transmissible variants definitely a concern north of the border. @nytimes
